Acupuncture is an ancient modality, that is used to bring balance into the body and promote homeostasis. It involves the stimulation of points on the body, which are used to target different body systems, balancing the nervous system and organ systems to restore and promote health.
Acupuncture releases endorphins and endogenous opioids, which assist in reducing pain, stress and inflammation within the body.
ACUPUNCTURE MAY ASSIST WITH AND MAY HELP TO IMPROVE SYMPTOMS OF:

- Autoimmune conditions and chronic health conditions: such as asthma, inflammatory arthritis
- Neurological conditions, such as Parkinson’s, Multiple Sclerosis, Bell’s Palsy

Please consider that all cases are unique and results may vary for individuals.
IS ACUPUNCTURE PAINFUL?
Whilst acupuncturists may still at times needle painful points if indicated, it’s based on balancing the body and the flow of qi and blood, to restore function and reduce pain levels. For example, we may needle points distal (away from the joint or painful area) to activate qi flow to the affected joint or area. Acupuncture works also to restore balance to the nervous system and can also assist in reducing inflammation through balancing the different organ systems.
WHAT IS QI?
The ancient Chinese described ‘qi’ as “life force“. Qi flows through meridian channels throughout the body.
YOUR CONSTITUTIONAL TYPE
Different schools of Acupuncture work on the theory of a root and branch system, much like this beautiful tree.
The root – Aka your constitutional type – when treated correctly and balanced will often have a flow on effect and alleviate many of the symptoms that maybe be presenting – aka the branches.
It is important to treat the root, to assist in resolving the symptoms that are manifesting as the branches. That is, looking at the whole body – person, body and spirit to again regain balance and health.
Treat the root, to achieve optimal health.
